Transport

Transport matters.

It affects whether people can get to work, college, hospital appointments, the shops, family and friends.

That is especially true in rural and coastal communities.

If a bus is late or cancelled in a city, there may be another one along shortly. In a village, that can mean the day is gone.

Graham raised the need for better links between Hull, Beverley and York with Mayor Luke Campbell in December.

Now the Mayor has his Director of Transport in place, Graham has met him to press again for better rural buses, better roads, protection for Hull Trains, the long-term case for York to Hull rail, and proper transport links for rural and coastal communities.

Graham is also continuing his work on potholes, road safety, station facilities, cycle routes, fuel costs for rural drivers and access to local services.

Beverley and Holderness must not be treated as the edge of the map.

Graham wants to hear from residents about the transport problems affecting them.

That includes:

  • unreliable or infrequent bus services
  • roads and potholes
  • road safety
  • speeding
  • parking
  • poor rail links
  • access to Hull Trains
  • York to Hull rail via Beverley
  • school and college transport
  • taxis and community transport
  • hospital, GP and dental appointments
  • cycle routes and footpaths
  • fuel costs for rural drivers

Your answers will help Graham make the case to the Mayor, the Combined Authority, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, ministers and transport operators.
