Graham raises local concerns about Evri in Parliament

Graham speaking in Parliament

After receiving more than 100 messages in under 24 hours about local people’s experiences with the delivery company Evri, Graham Stuart raised the issue in Parliament on Thursday.

Responding to his call for evidence, people across Beverley and Holderness shared persistent and unacceptable problems with Evri’s service. Common complaints included: false delivery notifications, parcels being left in bins and packages being delivered to the wrong address.

Frustrated by these reports, Graham asked the Leader of the House of Commons, Sir Alan Campbell MP, to grant time for a debate so MPs can consider what more can be done to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery services nationwide.

Sir Alan welcomed the suggestion and even noted that his own household had faced similar issues. His wife had been asking why no one had raised this in Parliament after her poor experience with Evri.

Despite the negative feedback, Graham highlighted on Look North (11th December 2025) that Beverley and Holderness is fortunate to have some outstanding Evri drivers who go above and beyond for their communities. Rachel in Patrington, Claire in Beverley, Toby in Skirlaugh, Jayne in Easington and Alistair in Preston were all praised for their exceptional service.

There are many outstanding Evri employees, but they are being let down by systemic issues. Graham understands that Evri has reduced payment per parcel which means couriers can, in some cases, earn below the minimum wage, and significantly less than they were paid for the same work previously.

Meanwhile, the support services they rely on to do their jobs well have been stripped back to the bare bones. Dedicated staff deserve proper systems and fair pay so they can deliver the high-quality service that people across Beverley and Holderness expect and deserve.

Graham said: “There’s something rotten in the state of Evri, they can’t guarantee a reliable service, and they’re struggling to recruit the extra drivers they need. That said, we’re fortunate to have some excellent Evri drivers locally: Rachel in Patrington, Claire in Beverley, Toby in Skirlaugh, Jayne in Easington and Alistair in Preston to name but a few. Great individuals can shine, but they deserve proper systems behind them to help them deliver the high quality service that people across Beverley and Holderness expect and deserve.”
