NHS access, handled locally

When you're worried about your health, the last thing you need is a system that leaves you waiting and wondering.

People in Beverley and Holderness work hard, pay their taxes, and expect to be able to see a doctor, get treatment, and access care when they need it.

Too often, I hear from local people who are struggling to get appointments, facing long waits, or finding it difficult to access the services they rely on.

I believe people should be able to get the care they need without unnecessary delays or frustration. That's why I work with local NHS leaders, ministers and healthcare providers to raise concerns, push for improvements, and make sure local voices are heard.

Getting an Appointment

One of the issues people raise with me most often is access to GP appointments.

When you are ill, or worried about a loved one, getting help should not feel like a battle.

I support:

• Faster access to GP appointments

• Better use of local health services

• Clearer communication with patients

• Making it easier to get the right care first time

People should be able to get help when they need it.

Care Closer to Home

For many patients, the best care is care that is available locally.

Strong local services make life easier for patients and families, reduce pressure on hospitals, and help people get support sooner.

That means:

• Supporting local clinics and community healthcare

• Improving access to services across Beverley and Holderness

• Reducing unnecessary journeys for treatment

• Making local healthcare work better for local people

A Health Service That Works for Patients

Most people are not interested in NHS structures or bureaucracy. They want confidence that when they need help, help will be there.

Patients should be treated with dignity and respect. They should not be left waiting longer than necessary for appointments, treatment or answers.

A strong NHS means giving people confidence that the system will be there when they need it most.

Tell Me About Your Experience

If you are having difficulties accessing NHS services, I want to hear about it.
