Graham Stuart MP is delighted that East Riding of Yorkshire Council has started the process to remove the enormous pile of rubbish at a private house in Thorngumbald.
Following Graham Stuart MP’s intervention in mid-July after seeing a Daily Mail story about the eyesore and public safety threat, the Council has taken steps to have the pile cleared up.
The awful mess came to national prominence in July, but it has been growing for two years. Local councillors Sue Steel and John Dennis have been working with the council to get this matter resolved since then.
Commenting, Graham Stuart MP said, “No one should have to live next to a growing pile of rubbish, making their road look like a dump.
“It’s a public health risk on a number of fronts, so I’m delighted I was able to get this sorted, to the benefit of everyone in Thorngumbald.”
