Local MP, Graham Stuart, is urging residents to fill in the Council’s broadband questionnaire at http://www.eastriding.gov.uk/corp-survey/snapform/broadband/residentsurvey.htm
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is carrying out a survey to help map the current broadband service so it can identify where it needs to be improved.
Graham said: “I would like everyone to fill in the survey, even those who don’t use broadband much at the moment, as it’s vital that we get the fastest and best broadband network as quickly as possible to everyone in Beverley & Holderness.”
Graham went on to say: “Fast broadband is not just about using Facebook, playing games on the internet or downloading films – more and more services from government and the voluntary and private sector are being delivered online and areas and people without a good connection will be left behind.
“For example, college students need it to access information and farmers have to register stock movements online; we have many other rural businesses too, all of them dependent upon fast and reliable broadband speeds. We need to fill in the survey to let the Council know where broadband problems are greatest so we can make sure that Beverley & Holderness gets the fastest internet, allowing our homes and businesses the best chance to compete and thrive.”
