Graham Stuart, Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, visited Paull Primary School where he met the students and saw first-hand the special outdoor clothing South West Holderness Ward Councillors secured funding for.

Praised by OFSTED for their “high quality care for pupils” during their most recent inspection, the school educates approximately 60 children aged 3-11 years old and is led by their Headteacher Paul Rowe.

The school encourages a holistic learning approach through their Forest School. A Forest School is an inspirational initiative which offers children opportunities to achieve, develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on experiences in an outdoor or woodland environment. In the school these activities are led by the local Forest School Practitioner, Jennie Langler, and Graham saw a lesson in action during which the children measured the length of worms.

During his visit, Graham was given a tour of the school by the Headteacher and learned how the school works hard to ensure it is inclusive for everyone. As part of the tour, Graham attended a Year 2 English lesson where the children were learning about King Midas. He also answered pupils’ questions about his role and explained to them how he represents them in Parliament.

Speaking about the successful fundraising, the South West Holderness Ward Councillors said: “We were delighted to be invited to accompany Graham on his tour of the highly popular Paull School and meeting the Head Teacher, his dedicated staff plus the very happy and hardworking children. It was a very enjoyable and rewarding visit.”

Following his visit, Graham Stuart commented: “I really enjoyed visiting Paull Primary School and meeting their friendly staff and pupils. They have great outdoor facilities which they use brilliantly through their Forest School and it was inspirational to see the students learning in such a creative and engaging way.”
