Graham Stuart MP at Paull Playground

Graham Stuart, Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, congratulated South West Holderness Ward Councillors and Paull Parish Councillors on securing funding for new equipment for everyone to enjoy at Paull Playground.

Located just a short walk from Paull Primary School, Paull Playground is open to children of all ages in the area. As a result of the tireless fundraising efforts of the local ward and parish councillors, it has a new slide, swings and a range of climbing equipment for the children to play on.

This was made possible as a result of the generosity of local organisations including Yorkshire Energy Park, Mitsubishi and East Riding of Yorkshire Council funding this brand-new equipment which Graham enjoyed seeing first hand. He was accompanied on his visit by the South West Holderness Ward Councillors David Winter, Sue Steel and John Dennis, as well as Lynda Kelly, Clerk to Paull Parish Council and some of the Paull parish councillors.

Lynda Kelly, Clerk to Paull Parish Council, commented, “After much hard work by all at Paull Parish Council, Ward Councillors, and fabulous donations from local businesses, it was a pleasure to show our MP Graham Stuart the wonderful new playground equipment we have recently had installed.”

South West Holderness ward councillor David Winter said, “Thanks to the fantastic financial support from local businesses, East Riding Council and the Burton Pidsea Wind Farm, Paull Playground has improved significantly. As Ward Councillors we feel it is important that companies wanting to invest in the area should contribute and look to improve the local facilities whenever possible. This is a good example of what can be achieved when the thoughts of local communities are properly considered by companies wishing to develop in the area.”

Following his visit, Graham said: “Thanks to the hard work of the local councillors and generosity of local organisations, children in Paull have lots of new playground equipment to enjoy and it was great to see the results of their efforts in person.”
