Graham is encouraging eligible local families to take up the Government’s offer of 30 hours of free childcare, part of the Conservative Party’s long-standing commitment to supporting working parents and giving every child the best start in life.
This policy was one of previous Conservative Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s great achievements, building on a legacy of expanding free childcare since 2010.
At the moment, working parents are eligible to 30 hours of free childcare for 3 and 4 year-olds while under 3s have been eligible for 15 hours of nursery care since September 2024.
This makes England’s childcare offer one of the most generous in Europe, giving parents the opportunity to go back to work knowing their children are cared for.
All working parents earning under £100,000 are eligible for this benefit for children from 9 months until school age.
Graham, a former Chairman of the House of Commons Education Select Committee, is a strong supporter of parental choice – be it standing up for home schoolers, expanded school choice and making it easier for parents to choose to go back to work.
Graham Stuart MP said:
“Whether you’re a young family in Beverley, a key worker in Hedon, or juggling shifts in Withernsea, 30 hours of free childcare can make a real difference to your family’s budget and peace of mind.
“The last Conservative government backed working parents—expanding access to childcare more than any government in our history.
“I want to make sure that local families in Beverley and Holderness don’t miss out. If you’re eligible, apply today.”
