Rachel Reeves has reached the end of the road. She said she had a plan for growth. Our growth forecasts have been halved. She said she would protect working people from tax rises. Her jobs tax has led to 80,000 more people without jobs. She has increased borrowing by £18bn. She said she would build homes for the future. Today she cut 200,000 homes from her target. All this while we now see tax hit 37.7% of GDP.
The Chancellor inherited the fastest growing economy in the G7 with inflation at 2%. She took to the floor of the House of Commons today to tell us that she squandered that inheritance and has made our economy weaker and less secure.
We simply can’t afford the cost of Labour.
Rachel Reeves needs to go. She simply isn’t up to the job of being Chancellor and in these times we need somebody at the helm who knows what they’re doing.
