Graham Stuart MP: Residents of Joseph Rowntree’s St Ellen’s Court all gathered recently to tell me about the devastating impact the cut to the Winter Fuel Payment will have on their living standards. People in Withernsea, Saturday last, gathered in Withernsea to demonstrate against it tomorrow, the Chancellor can do the right thing.

Vivergo to close following Prime Minister’s trade deal with US

Vivergo, the UK’s leading bioethanol plant based in Saltend, will close, leading to the loss of around 160 direct jobs and over 4,000 in the supply chain. The plant, which was struggling, will close following Keir Starmer’s trade deal with the US giving United States bioethanol producers tariff
