Representatives from Beverley’s East Yorkshire Foodbank came to Parliament as part of the Trussell Trust’s mass lobby of Parliament.

Mandy and Debbie made the journey to meet local MPs Graham Stuart (Beverley and Holderness) and Charlie Dewhirst (Con, Bridlington and the Wolds) to shine a light on the work done by the food bank.

In the year to 31st March 2025, East Yorkshire Foodbank distributed food to make 113,000 meals helping 7693 adults and 4899 children.

East Yorkshire Foodbank runs face to face sessions in Beverley and Bridlington. 40% of its customers live in rural areas and the food bank will deliver to them, as well as the elderly in Beverley itself.

Graham said “I’m so pleased to have welcomed Mandy and Debbie to Parliament, who made a persuasive case for more government action for those who need to use food banks.

“I just take my hat off to the people like Mandy and Debbie who give so much to local communities in Beverley and the villages beyond.”
