Graham has thrown his support behind a Banking Hub in Hedon following the announcement that Lloyds is to close in January 2026.
The branch on St Augustine’s Gate in Hedon is one of 49 branches marked for closure across the country as more and more people move to online banking.
Graham has launched a petition to call for a Banking Hub to be set up in Hedon following successful implementation of the alternative banking provision in Withernsea and Hornsea following the long-serving MP’s intervention.

Graham has long been concerned about the rights of older people, such as having led the successful fight against the Winter Fuel Payment cuts. He was behind the CADEY campaign which aimed to achieve full defibrillator coverage of Beverley and Holderness.
Graham is also one of Parliament’s foremost supporters of business, regularly making contributions in the House of Commons about the need to support small businesses.
Graham Stuart, Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, said, “We can all understand why bank branches are closing, but thousands of people in Beverley and Holderness still use banks.
“That’s why I’m calling for a banking hub in Hedon, to make sure people still have access to banking services.
“People shouldn’t have to take a two-hour round trip to Hull just to cash a cheque, have a mortgage meeting or pay in cash.”
