People in Easington, Kilnsea, Out Newton and Aldbrough have been suffering from regular power cuts over the past year leaving elderly people vulnerable

Easington Parish Council got in touch with local MP Graham Stuart, as well as their ERYC Councillor Sean McMaster, to see whether they could influence supplier Northern Power Grid to get their act together and provide a reliable electricity supply.

Graham and Cllr McMaster are meeting Northern Power Grid on Thursday to demand answers from the power supplier, including a detailed schedule of works to upgrade the transformers, faults on underground power cables and other factors that are affecting the overhead power network.

Graham and Cllr McMaster have often worked together, including recently to repair flood defences at Humber Bank.

Graham, as the MP for Beverley and Holderness, has helped thousands of residents in his twenty years representing the area in Parliament. He holds regular street surgeries (https://www.grahamstuart.com/surgeries) where any resident is available to meet him with problems small or large and is available via email at [email protected].

Graham Stuart, Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, said, “It’s pretty basic to have reliable power in our homes, but some people in Easington, Aldbrough, Kilnsea and beyond aren’t getting that at the moment.

“I’m grateful for all the residents who have got in touch, as well as Easington Parish Council.

“I’ll be demanding answers from Northern Power Grid, on your behalf, with your local councillors.”
