East Riding Clinical Commissioning Group is running an important consultation on how it delivers urgent care locally. Among other proposals the CCG plans to close the Minor Injuries Units (MIUs) at Hornsea Hospital and Withernsea Hospital, as well as to remove all the community beds from Withernsea. The MIU at Beverley is also under threat.

Graham believes the closure of the MIUs and the loss of beds would have a serious negative impact on his constituents and force them to make unacceptably long journeys. He is seeking to rally maximum community support to try to prevent this. He is encouraging as many residents as possible – hopefully thousands – to write to the consultation’s freepost address to object. If we want to save our hospitals we have to act now.
