Beverley and Holderness MP, Graham Stuart, visited the Old Fire Station GP Surgery in Beverley to meet the staff there and discuss the future of Primary Care.
The Old Fire Station GP Surgery is a GP Practice of five partners that serves over 10,000 patients from Beverley and the surrounding areas. The Practice moved to the current premises in 1985 and the current partners have all worked together for over 15 years. In 2016 the CQC rated the Old Fire Station Surgery ‘Good’ in all five areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.
During his visit Graham met a range of staff working at the Practice and spoke to them about the challenges and opportunities they are currently experiencing. He also spoke to them about their perceptions of Primary Care and what more he can do as their MP to support them and their patients.
Following his visit Dr Simon Carruthers, who is one of the doctors at the Surgery, said: “It was great to welcome Graham to the Surgery to show him our facilities and discuss what steps we would like the government to take to improve Primary Care so that our patients receive the best treatment possible.”
After visiting The Old Fire Station Surgery Graham commented: “I was pleased to have the opportunity to thank the brilliant team at the Practice for their hard work to ensure that their patients are looked after. I will take their comments about the future of Primary Care onboard and look forward to working with them further in the future.”
