Supported by the Octopus Group, Members of Parliament are being asked to nominate local entrepreneurs in their constituency for this years Entrepreneur Awards, especially those who they feel deserve special recognition.
Winners of this award will have the unique opportunity to receive £5,000 worth of scale up advice from business experts within Octopus. The winners will also be invited to attend a virtual meeting with their MP to celebrate their success and the thriving entrepreneurial community here in the UK.
The winners will be selected by a panel of parliamentarians and entrepreneurs. This includes Katherine Fletcher MP, who set up her own business prior to becoming an MP, Jimmy McLoughlin OBE, Presenter of Jimmy’s Jobs of the Future podcast, Karen Taylor, Founder of Parent Cloud, Seema Malhotra MP Shadow Minister for Business and Consumers, Darren Jones MP, Chair of the The Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee and Octopus founder Chris Hulatt.
The pandemic has brought out the very best from our world-leading entrepreneurs in the most challenging conditions. As we’ve seen first-hand, in the news or on social media, businesses have found ways to adapt, grow, innovate, and support our communities.
By giving these inspiring role models a platform, Octopus hopes to encourage others who want to start a business by showing them that the possibilities are endless.
Commenting on the awards announcement, MP for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart, said:
“The Entrepreneur Awards are a fantastic way of celebrating the unique contribution of entrepreneurs across the UK who, despite the challenges brought on by the pandemic, have thrived during the last year, for example, by starting a business, supporting the needs of their local community or adapting to become more environmentally sustainable.”
“If you are an entrepreneur who would like to be entered for this year’s award, please do get in touch and I’d be happy to put you forward”
