Graham Stuart, MP for Beverley and Holderness, has welcomed East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s success in securing £165,000 from the Government for swimming pools at East Riding Leisure in Hornsea and Withernsea.
Hornsea will receive £92,500 while Withernsea’s leisure centre will receive £72,500 to safeguard the future of these pools.
Graham is delighted that the leisure centres have received this money as part of £20.3 million from the Swimming Pool Support Fund.
The money means the pools will continue to provide people in Holderness with access to the pools, meaning children and adults alike will have access to their public pools.
Commenting, Graham said, “Swimming is a great way to stay fit, and our pools in Withernsea and Hornsea play a huge part of keeping adults and children alike active.
“I know how many people appreciate our wonderful swimming pools and this huge investment secures that future.”
