Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart’s CADEY campaign to have defibrillators installed in every community in his constituency has been recognised as a successful model that should be rolled out across the country.
Graham met with Miriam Deakin, Director of Policy and Strategy at NHS Providers, to share details of his CADEY campaign and discuss how other NHS providers could follow his lead in getting defibrillators into other communities.
“I’m so pleased that the hard work undertaken by local emergency services, fundraisers and parish councils to get these life-saving devices into our communities is being recognised by NHS Providers as a helpful model,” Graham said.
“By the community working together we can make a real impact here in Beverley and Holderness and there’s no doubt this could be copied across the country.
“I’m looking forward to continuing the conversation with local parish councils who have yet to install defibrillators so we can achieve our goal of universal access,” Graham said.
NHS Providers is the membership organisation for the NHS hospital, mental health, community and ambulance services that treat patients and service users in the NHS.
“We’ve been really impressed by the work of Graham and the community, and we can see the value of Beverley and Holderness being a template for others. We are eager to learn what works well and look forward to sharing the approach with other NHS trusts,” Ms Deakin said.
The CADEY Committee is keen to hear from local communities who want these devices installed and they should contact Graham Stuart MP’s office on 01482 679 687 to have their voices heard.
