Graham Stuart, Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, celebrated Small Business Saturday by visiting Shark e-Bikes’ distribution hub in Beverley.
Founded in 2020 by Carl Sharkey, Shark e-Bikes is a growing small business in Beverley and Hornsea which sells a range of e-bikes and cycling equipment. As cycle enthusiasts, he founded Shark e-Bikes with the aim of building a community that strives for healthier lifestyles and a more sustainable future. East Riding is an important landmark for the business as it is where the business started and is home to their new eBike hire store in Hornsea.
While he was there, Graham met the founder of Shark e-Bikes, Carl Sharkey, the manager, Rachael Bonnar, and the Head of Marketing, Luke Holroyd. They showed Graham their range of wonderful bikes, which include mountain bikes and city step through bikes, and spoke to him about why they think e-bikes are the way forward to reduce traffic on the road. Graham was joined on the visit by Harry Bulmer, who is a Council candidate for Minster and Woodmansey ward.
Following Graham’s visit, Rachael Bonnar, who is the Manager of Shark e-Bikes, said: "It was great to meet Graham Stuart at our Beverley distribution hub. As we celebrated Small Business Saturday this was a perfectly opportunity to show our local MP, who is also keen cyclist himself, how our range of entry level e-Bikes perform."
After visiting the Beverley site, Graham Stuart commented: “It was great to visit Shark e-Bikes in Beverley to mark Small Business Saturday. As a keen cyclist myself I am always keen to get other people to support cycling and e-bikes are one of the best ways to get people interested in this superb activity. If you are interested in taking up cycling, it is worth considering a Shark e-bike from their shop in Hornsea."
