Graham Stuart MP, noted sleigh enthusiast and Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, has called on the Council to suspend parking restrictions on sleighs, following displays of Scrooge-like behaviour in Worcester on 13th December.
In order to preserve UK – North Pole relations, Graham is calling on the Council to ensure that all parking restrictions are lifted for sleighs, sledges and any reindeer-driven traffic on December 24th and December 25th in order to allow the vital work of gift-giving to continue.
This proposal is expected to benefit Father Christmas, Santa Claus, St Nicholas, Kris Kringle and others associated with the act of gift-giving in late December. It is also expected that children on the so-called ‘nice list’ will benefit from the potential reduction of restrictions on sleighs.
It is important that sleighs are able to park on the road, in addition to roofs, given the fact that houses and flats across Beverley and Holderness no longer have access to Chimneys, so access must be via non-traditional entry points.
Commenting, Graham Stuart MP said, “Everyone on the Good List this year deserves to receive presents to wake up to on Christmas morning.
“That’s why I’m working with the Council to ensure that parking restrictions aren’t imposed on Father Christmas in Beverley and Holderness, as the grinches in Worcester have done.
“I hope this helps to contribute to everyone in Beverley and Holderness having a very happy Christmas.”
Father Christmas, jolly giver of gifts, said, “Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas!”
