Residents in Leconfield have raised ongoing concerns about repeated power cuts and the disruption they are causing to homes and businesses.
After hearing directly from residents, Graham has been raising the issue with Northern Powergrid to understand what is causing the outages and what can be done to improve reliability.
Northern Powergrid has confirmed that recent power cuts in and around Leconfield have been linked to a combination of trees on overhead lines, transient faults, faulty switchgear, and lightning strikes.
Graham is now writing to residents across Leconfield to hear directly about their experiences and make sure concerns are properly logged and followed up.
To support this work, Graham has launched a short survey below so residents can share how power cuts are affecting them and help build a clear picture of what is happening across the village.
The last engagement session with Northern Powergrid in Leconfield took place on 24 February last year. Further faults have since been logged, with additional monitoring and maintenance work ongoing.
Graham said: “Power cuts are incredibly frustrating, especially when they happen more than once. I’ve been listening to residents in Leconfield and raising their concerns directly with Northern Powergrid.
“From my work in other villages, I know that working closely with the network operator can lead to real improvements, and I want to make sure Leconfield’s concerns are heard and acted on.”
Leconfield residents Nick and Kuh Robinson commented: 'It's a nightmare with these power cuts but we're grateful to have an MP like Graham who listens, works hard and has a record of getting results.'
