Graham intervened to help Holderness Grange residents following issues with their management company.

In August Graham was informed that HICA, the current management company responsible for the retirement village, had overcharged a number of its residents £311 each and were refusing to refund them.

Graham raised their complaints with their Chief Executive expressing his disappointment in their decision and asked for the company to do the right thing and refund the residents what they were owed. Following Graham intervention, all of the residents who were overcharged have now been repaid and HICA have paid £15,000 into the service charge account for residents of the home as a goodwill gesture.

To mark this victory, Graham visited Holderness Grange to meet Mary Martin, Chair of Holderness Grange Residents Association, and some of the people who benefitted from his work. They enjoyed a coffee and chat with Graham and were pleased to be able to thank him in person for pushing tirelessly for this injustice to be resolved.

Mary Martin, Chair of Holderness Grange Residents Association, said: “We were delighted when Graham paid a visit to Holderness Grange Retirement Village for coffee and a chat with residents so we could thank him personally for his support with our issues.”

Graham Stuart commented: “I am here to be the champion of local people and fight against injustices in our area. That is why I was so pleased to secure refunds for the residents of Holderness Grange and hear about the positive impact receiving this money has had on them.”
