Graham Stuart, Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, has demanded that the Humber NHS Foundation Trust which is now responsible for the running of Hornsea Cottage Hospital takes early and decisive steps to recruit and retain staff for the popular local facility.
Graham said: “I have spoken not only to the Chief Executive of the Humber NHS Foundation Trust but also to the Chairman of the Primary Care Trust. It is essential that appropriate staff are recruited, managed and motivated to maintain services at the cottage hospital.”
Mr Stuart was given categorical assurances by the Chief Executive of the Foundation Trust that the present staffing problems would be resolved and that the ward services in Hornsea would be restored soon.
Graham said: “I feel very sorry for the patients who had to be moved because of the problems at the hospital but am pleased to report that these issues should be resolved. I have been assured that there will not be long term implications for these services which are so important to local people.”
