Help Protect Preston’s Historic Nun’s Walk
A Draft Order has been published which would close around 200 yards of Preston’s historic Nun’s Walk and divert the footpath around the Cranswick site.
If it goes ahead, part of this historic route could be lost forever.
Nun’s Walk has been used by generations of local people and forms part of Preston’s heritage. Local tradition links the route to All Saints’ Church, and parts of its original cobbled surface can still be seen today.
Cranswick is an important local employer and brings jobs and investment to our area. However, many local residents believe a solution should be found that allows the business to operate and grow while protecting this historic route.
I have asked Cranswick to work with residents and Preston Parish Council to explore whether Nun’s Walk can be preserved.
Before any decision is taken, local people deserve to have their voices heard.
